Built into a standard A4 frame , size is 11" high x 9" wide by a depth of 2".
The inspiration for this new direction came from creating something purely from clay, a fantasy piece
that could be associated with an old london street back in the time of vagabonds. I wanted all this
with a twist, a hint of magic and intrigue. The strange shaped door accompanied by not a single
straight line adds a mysterious qaulity, however appears a friendly unknowing. The Cellar door adds
to the feeling of copious activity once frequented this street. The whole project acceded over 200
(enjoyable) hours of sculpting and meticulous painting, no wood was used to create the beams, doors
windows even the old cart and cloak was made from clay.
I hope the piece inspires people to push the boundaries and to move the magic of miniatures forward to
the next level.
The key to improving the art is to try, fail, learn and move on, the more you build the better you become.
